The best places to live in Toronto for commuters

Ajax led the pack in this metric, with the average price currently at $719,666.67 and the average commuting time per day at 145.0 minutes. Pickering ($775,733.35 / 132.5 minutes) and Whitby ($764,807.50 / 172.5 minutes) came next in the rankings, followed by Maple, Vaughan ($1,291,174.69 / 150.0 minutes) and Port Perry, Scugog ($1,034,271.70 / 192.5 minutes).

However, lower commuting times tend to offset higher prices in terms of homes’ attractiveness to would-be buyers, which is why shopping around and experimenting with commuting routes remain sensible choices.

“Homebuyers looking for homes for sale in Toronto shouldn’t be put off from exploring buying property in other areas. One thing our research shows is that houses in the suburbs can be more expensive than those close to downtown Toronto.
