Ground-breaking new development announced for Montreal

A development including a 200-room hotel, 335 rental units, 140 condos and a total of 90,000 square feet of office space has been announced for Montreal.

It will take up a whole block bordered by Viger, de Bleury, de La Gauchetière and Hermine, complementing the Quartier international and will be called HUMANITI.

The development will be a first-of-its-kind for Canada with the space designed to allow residents to live, work and play in an environment which fosters free movement and sharing.

"The project has two main sources of inspiration: the first is the interaction between the city and the mountain, and the second is the mixed-use possibilities offered by the site,” explains Michel Aubé, senior architect and project manager of Lemay. “There is a fundamental relationship between architecture and the human body: through this instinctive experience, we aim to reinvent the space we occupy.”
