With sales activity under pressure from the oil slowdown some home sellers in Calgary are using innovative incentives to entice buyers. Among the deals offered in the city are a $350,000 contribution towards the cost of buying a helicopter and a luxury Tesla. “Calgary real estate is obviously taking a bit of a beating as are many businesses,” Keith Crawford, with Century 21 Bamber Realty told The Calgary Herald. “I had an interesting comment from my seller. ‘Why should we continue to reduce the price of the home in order to attract an offer? I could have given away a Ferrari for the price of reductions’.” There’s also good news for buyer agents as incentives being offered to them are ranging from $1,000 to $30,000 currently.
