Tiny homes market expanding

The market for tiny homes is expanding in Canada according to a report by the CBC. It says that narrow, tiny and other alternative housing types are gaining ground as affordability combines with environmental considerations in making small homes more desirable. Adam Ochshorn told the broadcaster that his development company Curated Properties is seeing increased demand from buyers who want to stay in Toronto but not in the suburbs or in towers: "We have people coming in and telling us that they have been looking to buy a home downtown for maybe a year or even two, but they keep losing what they want to buy in a bidding war.” Ochshorn is calling for a loosening of restrictions on building on laneways to further expand alternative housing options in the city.
